Art: Photography Sid Vicious: No One Is Innocent
-
- Sid Vicious Mugshot, Courtesy the Smoking Gun
It's good to see Proud Galleries opening their new Camden home in a suitably rock 'n roll way. Taking an up-close and personal look at troubled Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious, this exhibition features work by highly regarded 1970s photographers, from Peter Gravelle to Eileen Polk. The latter was a punk-scene friend of Sid and his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen — who many believe he stabbed to death in 1978 after a turbulent, drug-fuelled relationship. Filmmaker Alan Parker hopes to shed light on the murder in his upcoming Who Killed Nancy?, excerpts from which will also be shown throughout the exhibition.
