Artquest and SPACE present a one-day extravaganza that sets out to explore contemporary art-making vis-à-vis social engagement. The context is London, and — as 2012 rolls ever closer and art and regeneration look to continue their burgeoning partnership — questions related to publically commissioned art and broader issues on arts practices are raised and debated by key figures. Jude Kelly, artistic director of the South Bank Centre, presents the keynote speech, followed by academics, public-sector workers and artists sharing their ideas on successful artist/commissioner relationships and the social value of art.
