Performing Arts: Theatre French Paste

A chaotic year to say the least, 1987 saw Margaret Thatcher elected prime minister for the third time, storms battering the island and Cadbury's current pin-up, Joss Stone, enter the world. Fashioning itself around those twelve months, two-act comedy French Paste appears for a fleeting season at the Shaw Theatre. Opening with former BBC weatherman Michael Fish re-creating his own supposed blunder (failing to predict the hurricanes that would devastate the southeast), Richard Gallagher's bitterly droll production explores the crux of human relationships, and how to pick up the pieces when it all goes to pot.
