Little movements, such as the flicking of a light switch, can have big effects. Organised by the Science Museum, the Light Switch Project brings artists and scientists together to investigate the complex ramifications of simple actions by looking at consumer habits and how they affect energy efficiency and sustainability. The participants hail from three illustrious performing-arts groups: Lucy Foster is associate director at Improbable, Toby Jones and Laura McDermott are from Battersea Arts Centre and Pete Harrison and Timothy Vize-Martin are two-fifths of Propeller. Climate change may be inescapable, but this event is commendable for providing an exploration, as opposed to a lecture.
