This exhibition at the South London Gallery features ten artists from the UK and around the globe who share a thematic concern: the concept of play. Gaming and sport — in their non-competitive, Situationist formulation — can inspire acts of freedom and resistance in everyday life, and the works here explore this idea through different media and with varying levels of interaction and viewer engagement. Nils Norman's Unit 2: Study area and archive is a politically charged physical renegotiation of office furniture, while Lottie Child's latest Street Training Manual uses Brazilian favelas to teach urban dwellers how to interact with others in the city.
