More Flavor: Festival Waterloo Carnival

It's carnival season, and in SE1 that means munchkins, monkeys and magic, as the Wizard of Oz comes to town. Tying in with the Royal Festival Hall's staging, the 2008 Waterloo Carnival ventures down the yellow brick road accompanied by a procession of over 300 locals, replete with performances and stalls along the way. There's plenty for kids, from mini-munchkin museums to a witches' tea party, while Emerald City (aka the western end of Lower Marsh) is the final destination for grown-ups, with bars, music, cabaret and the "If I only had a brain" pub quiz.
