Music: DJ Birdy Nam Nam

You could be forgiven for thinking that Gallic charm extended primarily to accordions, caustic chanson française and garlic-infused gastronomy. But Birdy Nam Nam show that the French can pull off turntablism that rivals even the most hardened of NYC DJs. The quartet have won a bevy of prizes, including the DMC/Technics World TEAM Championships, thanks in large part to their talent at transforming the turntable into a bona-fide musical instrument. Crazy B, DJ Pone, DJ Need and Little Mike share scratch responsibilities to create a damn cool — and deeply French — sound.
