Kentucky five-piece My Morning Jacket are celebrating a decade together with a mammoth European and US tour, and they've never been more experimental in their attitudes to rock — or more likely to cross over into the big leagues. Their latest album, Evil Urges (released in June on Rough Trade) found frontman Jim James confounding expectations and re-engineering their echoing alt-country rock with a hefty funk injection; outstanding recent performances on both sides of the Atlantic — namely, at NYC's iconic Radio City Music Hall and a Sunday headline slot on Glastonbury's Park Stage — have furthered the band's fresh momentum.
