Edwardian bookshop Daunt Books pits a eunuch detective with a penchant for gourmet delights against a chain-smoking gent also in the sleuthing profession. The creative minds behind the characters — respectively, Yashim and Cetin Ikmen — are authors Jason Goodwin and Barbara Nadel, who engage in discussion on all manner of topics relating to their work. From Goodwin's current novel, The Bellini Card, to Nadel's Ashes to Ashes, the intricacies of the mystery and thriller genres are explored, as is the sprawling and exotic locale of Istanbul — having featured heavily and meticulously as a location in previous efforts from both writers.
