The Wellcome Collection present Skeletons, a gruesome yet fascinating look at London history. Drawing from the Museum of London's collection of over 17,000 skeletons, the exhibition explores the narratives behind a select few, and uncovers the multitude of burial grounds that lie concealed beneath our streets. From the Cross Bones cemetery excavated in Southwark to the East Smithfield Black Plague pits and the Augustinian monastery graveyard (below a carpark in Merton), the show uses social geography to illustrate how a population lived and, ultimately, died.
