Barbican says…

Inspired by Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp's pirate-lore obsession in Pirates of the Caribbean, 2006's Rogue's Gallery compilation featured indie stars singing a series of swashbuckling sea chanteys. Tonight, musicians such as Pete Doherty, Martha Wainwright and grizzled steel guitarist Baby Gramps take on a selection of gruesome, bawdy and beautiful seafaring songs. Less obvious musical types — including Tim Robbins and beat illustrator Ralph Steadman — contribute merrily to the tuneage, as well. Bring along a pint of grog — and don't forget to silence your parrot.
