As bizarre art projects go, building a massive replica of a Disney castle in your West London studio and floating it down a canal to King's Cross is up there with the best of them. And that's just what artist Nick Hornby (no, not that one) has been commissioned to do for the London Festival of Architecture. The castle, which will float in a pond in Camley Street Natural Park, reflects the dichotomy between the veneer of children's Disney dreams and commercial reality — and reminds one that Disneyland Resort Paris is just a mere three hours and one minute away from the London terminus.
