The Scoop's season of free theatre continues with two plays that perfectly suit the open-air setting of the More London amphitheatre. Mike Artell's Petite Rouge brings the fairy tale of Little Red Riding Hood to Mardi Gras and the swamps of New Orleans; accompanied by jazz and Cajun music, the performance combines puppetry and dance in a witty take on the children's classic. Contrastingly set under starry night skies, Blood Wedding follows the tempestuous journey of two forsaken lovers as they try to escape the strictures of their rural community. This version by poet Ted Hughes retains the lyrical passion of Spanish dramatist Federico García Lorca's original text.
