For those navigating the insistently endless summer days on a budget, the National Theatre's Watch This Space returns to the scenic shore of the Thames at South Bank. Offering a palatable programme of entertainment alfresco, the series contains enough diversity within its world premieres and newly commissioned pieces to please all — DJs spin well into the night in the Green Room, films are projected onto the theatre's fly-tower and productions come in the form of Besame Mucho Cabaret's Company FZ and the Alternative Village Fete. The launch event is Expedition Paddock's Tango Sumo, a rigorous dance piece bursting with acrobatics and deliciously unsettling machismo.
