Performing Arts: Dance Big Dance

Release the toe-tapping artiste within at any one of the events making up Big Dance. Led by the Mayor of London (although the mental image of a Morris-dancing Boris is somewhat questionable), the spectacle offers up a whirling array of performances and workshops throughout the capital, inspiring either participation or observation, and culminating in a finale at Trafalgar Square that brings together breakdancers, capoeiristas and modern-day foxtrotters. A photography competition kicks off in the lead-up, calling for entries capturing "dancing on the streets of London", so get into the spirit and throw some shapes in Shoreditch.
