More Flavor: City Gem Kensal Green Cemetery Open Day

In something of a departure from your run-of-the-mill Sunday pursuits, Kensal Green's General Cemetery of All Souls — one of Britain's oldest burial grounds — present their annual open day. The quirky affair situates honey and jam stalls alongside vintage hearse displays, and offers two-hour tours of the listed buildings and monuments surrounding the 60,000-odd graves. Taking in the history, architecture and occupants of the "garden-style" estate — most famously, Freddie Mercury, who was cremated here — as well as an eerie trip to the catacombs beneath the Anglican Chapel, it certainly beats yet another trip to B&Q.
