Best known for its antipodean residents, gargantuan exhibition hall and teeming tube station, Earls Court is also home to one of central London's best summer festivals. Now in its fifth year, the event runs across a variety of SW5 venues and encompasses local art, music, film and commerce. On 6 July, the Street Fair takes over Hogarth and Kenway Roads, with more than 60 street-stall exhibitors; the next day, Elena Nalimova (piano) and Pavlos Carvalho (cello) perform Russian sonatas in St Cuthbert's Church. Hangover Square, Fidelis Morgan's adaptation of local author Patrick Hamilton's book, starts previews on 9 July at the Finborough Theatre, while elsewhere that evening, singer/songwriter Phildel performs at the Troubadour.
