Art Domestic Appliance

This group show at Flowers collects work inspired by domesticity and made with the kinetic strain of art in mind. Many of the pieces assign new functions to standard household objects, adding subversive elements to items traditionally used for mundane purposes. Nik Ramage's comically grotesque Jelly Wobbler 1993 contrasts with Kristof Kintera's suggestive work pairing an electric drill with a vacuum cleaner. Look out for chair destruction and reconstruction from Max Dean, Raffaello D'Andrea and Matt Donovan — then ponder what objects in your own home might be taken to pieces.
