Shunt transforms itself in this four-day Bacchanalia, where secret vintners can trample some grapes and bottle their own Shunt Wine. During fermentation, there's the opportunity to fashion oneself into a modern-day Bacchus, complete with shaggy ram's legs. The So Bacchus Crew get serious on the decks as guests swig the plonk and check out interactive performances from Brian Lobel and John Constable, who recounts tales from Southwark's colourful past. Meanwhile, the Penthouse area becomes a sozzled art-deco dance hall, featuring lessons for those unused to rug-cutting. A celebration that would be memorably hedonistic — if not so difficult to remember.
