Spectaculu de Rio de Janeiro is a Brazil-based organisation that encourages young people to participate in the arts and use culture to improve their prospects, as well as those of their communities. Tonight, the group leads London-based South American artists and local residents in a celebration of all things Brazilian, filling the Young Vic with traditional terpsichorean and dramatic performances — including samba dancing — that spill out of the theatre and into the surrounding streets, creating a miniature version of the Rio Carnival in the unlikely setting of the Cut.
