Contemporary London owes its reputation to its diverse, cosmopolitan residents. London Through a Lens, a collection of photographs from Getty Image's Hulton archive, transports us back to other eras in London's modern evolution: a hub of a global empire, a former giant crumbling and wracked with malaise, a city at the forefront of change. A kaleidoscope of images — from the seething throng of '50s New Year's Eve revellers, poll-tax rioters in the '80s and anti-Italian riots during WWII, to Michael X accepting John Lennon's hair — evokes the essence of our ever-evolving city.
