Besides having great musicianship in common, Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain all share in the fact that they died at the tender age of 27. Proud Galleries' new photography exhibition takes this somewhat spooky coincidence as its starting point and brings together classic images by renowned music photographers such as Elliott Landy. In fact, there are another 25 or so musicians who died at 27 and became posthumous members of the so-called "Forever 27 Club", which gives the exhibition its name. By focusing on these prominent five, Proud explores the pressures of fame and success.
