Integrating design with fine art, Gemma Holt's Work on Paper features a functional form of paper (Holt's own "G5") upon which every item of the gallery's correspondence is printed. Artist purchase orders, exhibition maps, loan forms and press releases are all on G5. The project represents the first time Holt's personalised paper has been used on such a large-scale venture. (In the past, she's manipulated pencils into bracelets and rulers into floorboards.) Making a statement against the universally used A4 standard, Holt disrupts the dominant paradigm and brings new meaning to everyday materials and objects.
