Art: Architecture/Design Designers in Residence

Selected for their all-out experimentation, the Design Museum's resident designers have been asked to respond to the theme of collections and collecting. Jethro Macey reinvents the curiosity cabinet by giving it a slick, minimal appearance, while Matthew Falla and Lea Jagendorf's interactive screen offers virtual access to the museum's permanent collection. Adrian Westaway and Ben Storan take a more esoteric approach — as demonstratred by their spiraling installation that reacts to visitors' emotions — and Freddie Yauner, the Guinness World Record-holder for the highest-popping toaster, has gone to great lengths in creating an extraordinarily long bench that winds its way around the museum.
