He's taken on Tchaikovsky, Bizet and Tim Burton; now Matthew Bourne turns his choreographic talents to Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, the cautionary tale of an attractive young Victorian man who sells his soul to keep his looks. This New Adventures production sets Gray among the beautiful people of contemporary London and explores our obsession with appearance and celebrity culture. Dorian, played by Richard Winsor, is now a gay male model, and the object of Gray's desire, actress Sybil Vane in Wilde's version, is instead principal dancer Cyril. Judging by Bourne's track record, this is set to be an unmissable balletic spectacle.
