Combining live music with physical drama and shadow puppetry, performance-art piece Karagiozis Exposed brings Cypriot folklore to the stage. Both a comedy and an exploration of the allure of new frontiers, the play follows the shadow-puppet character of Karagiozis, who — through a monumental blunder on his master's part — is accidentally released into a 3-D existence. His reluctance to return and desire to break down the boundaries between old and new are reflected in the performance itself, in which actors and their props coexist harmoniously.
