Originally a hunting ground, and briefly a haven for the wealthy, London's Soho is the heart of the gay district, a hotbed for belting restaurants, trendy pubs and a multitude of interesting characters. Sure, there are a few sex shops and strip clubs, but that's nothing compared to the debauchery of earlier decades. Soho Archives features the work of controversial photographers Jean Straker — known for his sexually explicit nudes and distaste for censorship — and Magnum's David Hurn, famous for images of prostitutes and strippers. Press photographers from The Daily Herald also supply responses to the sex, crime, creativity and vulgarity of Soho in the '50s and '60s.
