Anthony Goicolea's previous, Cindy Sherman-esque photography has included portraits of himself as a young boy and dreamlike tableaux with gruesome twists. Earlier this year, the Cuban-American artist visited his homeland for the first time, and this is the resulting exhibition. Photographs of empty landscapes featuring public buildings his family would have visited are displayed alongside archive images of his ancestors drawn onto Mylar and stuck up like ancient missing posters, then photographed or transferred onto glass bottles as strangely sad, ghostly sculptural pieces — moving and nostalgic.
