Puppetry, automatons and shadow dancing are just some of the mercurial forms present at the London International Mime Festival. At Shunt Lounge, avant-garde troupe Akhe stage their explosive bananas-and-vodka cookery show; Eduard Bersudsky's displays his fantasy creatures; and miniatures crafted by Faulty Optic also take the spotlight. A silent version of Oedipus descends upon the Southbank Centre, while at the Royal Opera House, Compagnie Un Loup Pour l'Homme present physical theatre at its most attuned. Workshops and post-show discussions also take place throughout this action-packed week.
