Once upon a time, long before Z-list relationship breakdowns in all their lurid finery routinely graced the pages of the national press, there was Heat: the first celebrity magazine. (Although it now has a surfeit of company on the newsstand, its essence endures — gently poking fun at its subjects while celebrating the phenomenon of fame.) This slice of the Heat portrait collection, curated by deputy editor Jeremy Mark, perfectly encompasses the irreverent tone: James Corden recreates Beckham's pants pose; Jordan scans melons at a supermarket checkout; Paris Hilton in a floor-length blonde wig; and Girls Aloud, dressed as little old ladies.
