Ever the rebel, erstwhile Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has never been satisfied with conventional arts, and Playing the Building sees him explore the relationship between a venue and its audience like never before. The interactive installation — which Byrne successfully trailed in a derelict NYC ferry terminal last year — is a pump organ in the centre of the Roundhouse, connected to the venue's pillars and rafters with a series of cables. Visitors then take turns to "play the building" via the organ itself (Byrne isn't present) in what is an artistic work of incredible intrigue and vision.
