“Few cities lend themselves better to the art-cum-science of psychogeography than London. Author and broadcaster Will Self – in conversation with academic Dr Sebastian Groes – discusses the capital's myriad myths, half-truths and lines of power that criss-cross the city like an out of control Tube train.”
Author and journalist Will Self is in conversation with Dr Sebastian Groes about London's psychogeography and how the city's myths, memories and narratives can be mapped and recorded. All ticket holders will receive a free glass of wine on entry. Dr Sebastian Groes is Lecturer in English Literature at Roehampton University. He is Series Editor of Contemporary Critical Perspectives (Continuum) and has written extensively on the modern British novel. This event is based on research for his book The Making of London, which analyses the city's psychogeography. Will Self (Psychogeography, The Book of Dave) will be giving readings from his work and participate in a discussion focussing on psychogeography and Groes' up and coming book.
