“Blain|Southern present a sweeping overview of more than 100 drawings by the late and most definitely great Lucian Freud. This inspired exhibition, curated by William Feaver, spans Freud's entire career and showcases the evolution of his first love and most erudite medium. The collection – assembled from museums and private collections – ranges from intimate portraits to vast landscapes. One of Britain's most pre-eminent artists, Freud's mastery of figurative art grew throughout his life in the execution of his drawings, rendering his subjects with charcoal, chalk, pen and pencil. This retrospective honours Freud and beautifully illustrates his painstaking skill and insightful life's work in capturing the subjects that captivated him.”
