“Curated by Amy McDonnell and Francesca Baglietto, Position-Place-Situate-Locate is a new exhibition featuring the work of 12 PhD research students from the Chelsea College of Art and Design, including Denise Walker, Amanda Newall and Mário Pires Cordeiro. What makes this fascinating exhibition stand out, however, is the "rhizomatic" approach that the curators have taken to the work, essentially taking the lid off of the creative process and showing many of the emails, notes, images and conversations that are part of the artistic process. The randomness of much of these "workings" only goes to highlight the complexity beneath the staid, essentially artificial, experience we have become accustomed to in terms of viewing a finished, final "piece".”
Note:
The exhibition takes please at the Triangle Space at the Chelsea College of Art and Design.
