The theme of unlearning is an essential aspect in BLK/MRKT gallery owner Dave Kinsey's art. As a result, his multi-medium portraits are rife with diverse textures and emotions. Layered forms emerge from the canvas in both inanimate and tangible forms, twisting differing aspects of the human condition into raw, emotional objects. Engaging Kinsey's art is a little like reading — individual sections lend themselves to a larger whole that is constructed in and of its elements.
