Aberdeen-born Shona Macdonald's delicate gouache, silverpoint, and graphite works, exhibited in d.e.n.'s main gallery, comment on the endless order and routine of daily life — her recurring images of snow-capped mountains and stacks of paper are quietly mesmerizing. In the smaller project space, Icelandic artist Heimir Björgúlfsson's mixed-media works juxtapose the natural, animal world with a fantastic, psychedelic one, likely influenced by the qualities of his adopted cities, Los Angeles and Amsterdam.
