Los Angeles County Museum of Art says…

It took chutzpah for Disney and Dalí to channel their wild worldviews into the singular styles that garnered them single-name status. Propelling early-20th-century art's sea change, Walt's magical realism and Salvador's surreal malarkey are iconic, if not supremely idiomatic. Tonight, LACMA pays tribute to the two dreaming draftsmen with an early-Disney medley (some Silly Symphonies, choice clips from Fantasia) and the two's collaborative Destino, a seven-minute saunter through Dalí's double-take dreamscapes. More than 50 years in the making (the two began in 1946 and finally finished in 2003), Disney described the stunning short as "just a simple love story — boy meets girl."
