Giacomo Puccini's four-act opera La Bohème has been immortalized in more films, songs, and remakes than any other work of its time. The love story of the young poet Rodolpho and his beautiful neighbor Mimi takes place in 19th-century Paris on Christmas Eve. This LA reprise sees 27-year-old newcomer Maija Kovalevska revisit the role of Mimi after a critically acclaimed debut at New York's Metropolitan Opera. Conducted by Hartmut Haenchen (with several shows helmed by Plácido Domingo), performances are sung in Italian with English supertitles. Students and fans alike can also partake in a pre-performance lecture an hour prior to each show.
