Jen Liu's new multimedia collection at Lizabeth Oliveria Gallery finds the anti-technology characters of her Brethren of the Stone series once again entrenched in humorously futuristic, yet totally socially conscious scenarios. The exhibition includes a few watercolor paintings that showcase her exaggerated ideas about the future through a complex kaleidoscope of psychedelic colors and images. The paintings, which demonstrate Liu's technical mastery of the craft, are offset by video installations that continue the narrations of her fictional spiritual kin. New Dawn Fades marks this New York-based artist's second show at the gallery.
