Beloved indie singer/songwriter haven the Hotel Café is stuffed to the gills tonight, with sets from intellectual troubadour Greg Laswell, a record-release party for subtle Nick Drake-ist singer Buddy, and a feel-good set from mandolin-jammers Brian Wright & the Waco Tragedies. But the secret toy surprise is the early (8pm sharp, no kidding) set from a dreadlocked angel with a dirty face, singer/songwriter/fearlessly melodic experimenter Emily Wells. Tonight's set is being recorded, so Wells and Co. are sure to be in top form. No one will notice if you go in your work clothes — they'll be too busy getting their minds blown.
