Even though Wallace Berman exhibited his work at the highly influential Ferus Gallery within years of Andy Warhol's first solo show, you've probably never heard his name before. The jack of all arts (poetry, sculpture, collage — you name it, he's made it) and social butterfly (his huge circle of influential friends included a pre-"Mickey" Toni Basil) finally gets his due at Michael Kohn Gallery, whose ongoing exhibition is a mini-survey of Berman's murky, beautiful assemblages and photographs.
