Film Outfest presents All About Eve (1950)

"Funny business, a woman's career," laments a caustic Bette Davis in '50s classic All About Eve. A smart drama about aging actress Margot Channing and her sharp-toothed, ladder-climbing secretary, the film engages timeless themes of misogyny, ambition, and Hollywood politics. The film is a standout for its drum-tight screenplay, rich dialogue, Davis' pitch-perfect performance, and a memorable cameo by newcomer Marilyn Monroe. Originally based on a short story by Mary Orr, the film was nominated for 14 Academy Awards and took home six, including the award for Best Picture.
