Drums! Lots of drums. Loud — make that very loud — bass. Just add some black-belt moves and you've got this ensemble: a pyrotechnic body shot to your extremities, which will move as if by a mandate that comes from the air. Indo-Ninja (bass) and Outdo-Ninja (drums) cut through accepted indie genres with the precision of a blade. Originally from the San Gabriel Valley, these percussionists were trained in Jazz before morphing into the drunken, whatever-it-is-I-love-it form they've unleashed in their two studio releases to date. Songs from their first album, Enter the Ninja, have been featured on The Real World and Real World/Road Rules Challenge, but their preferred delivery method is in the flesh. Tonight, their assault is reinforced by progressive hard-rock outfit Apex Theory, along with a slate of other speaker-blowing guitar slayers that includes Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Chameleon Conductor.
