Reading David Sedaris: Black Box Readings

Fans of David Sedaris' bone-dry wit can get a sneak peak of the humorist's new book, scheduled for release this summer. His last collection, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, featured signature Sedaris soliloquies on Southern roots and dysfunctional domesticities, but stories like "Hejira" traversed darker and more serious familial territory. Sedaris' peeps are tight-lipped about his forthcoming memoir, but the self-deprecating author promises that there'll be stories about "Polish crybabies" and "throwing shit in a paraplegic's yard." Sounds about right.
