Film Electroma (2006)

French dandies Daft Punk (Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo) helm the helmeted, instant midnight movie Electroma. The minimalist/humanist allegory is about two robots (referred to as Hero #1 and #2, and surprisingly not played by the duo) hoping to become human. The two tentatively wander through a desolate landscape devoid of human life but full of never-ending highways and high-tech facilities. Besides the breathtaking, Bauhaus-ish cinematography, the silent art-house sci-fi epic is supported by a suspiciously Daft Punk-free score featuring Brian Eno, Sébastien Tellier, and Curtis Mayfield.
