Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Center Theatre Group's world-premiere musical, busts out of the theatrical gate with energetic, rapier wit. Colored by its emo-influenced rock score, it veers into a contemporary morality play, exploring the follies and foibles of our nation's first progressive politician, with an exuberantly youthful cast to capture the spirit of discontent and disillusionment. If we had all been taught an American history as subversive as this, we'd not only be a nation of historical pundits; we'd also be one of bon-mot slingin', foulmouthed-yet-feel-good idealists.
