Photographer and video artist Tim Sullivan, the highlight of last year's OC Biennial, inserts himself into bizarrely macabre and possibly drug-induced circumstances — an assumption based solely on the captivating absurdity and brainiac surrealism of his scenarios. His flying bumper-car rides, stand-up stages, and decaying rural rooftops make for visually rich, documentary-style knee-slappers. Colin Roberts' photographs demonstrate a similarly attenuated relationship to the real world; he engineers hybrid images of the natural and artificial worlds that operate as metaphors for the human tendency to misremember.
