This Miracle Mile-situated gallery's latest exhibition joins two artists with radically different approaches to the aesthetic of assemblage. Asad Faulwell, recent recipient of an MFA from Claremont Graduate School, creates intricate, large-scale collage paintings inspired by the political structures of the Middle East, where he has roots. This knotty subject matter becomes lovely and elegant through the artist's ornate, delicate handiwork. Faulwell's collection is balanced by work from Annie Buckley, who takes a more digital tack, methodically combining numerous images to create engaging, humorous portraits of women morphing into trees.
