For her second exhibition at Culver City's Billy Shire Fine Arts, Santa Monica-based artist Miriam Wosk once again creates her trademark large-scale, laboriously constructed mixed media tableaux. The pieces' pastoral imagery — comprising source material like anatomical diagrams, historical charts, and vintage wallpaper — is lush, dramatic, even sensual. Although they're not exactly textbook material, Wosk's exuberant, regal organisms possess vibrant inner lives and a passionate love of glitter and gold.
