Music: Rock/Pop Liz Pappademas and Dorian Wood

Inside Downtown's Edgar Varela Fine Arts, singer/pianist Liz Pappademas delivers ballads from her quietly devastating solo debut, 11 Songs, as well as a few numbers from her current project, a concept album based on a fictional game show. Dorian Wood also descends on the art space, playing music from his beautiful break-up album Bolka. Both artists have the capacity to impart a full narrative within a single song, and tonight, members of the Killsonic avant-jazz marching band help flesh out several story-like tunes. Karen Bellone's stark photographic portraits of America at the millennium's close, Postcards from the End of the 20th Century, provide a poignant backdrop for the performances.
